Clean up scrap, saw dust and other flammable items before soldering,  brazing or welding. A fire extinguisher should be readily available before beginning hot work.

Avoid bending at the waist, bending at the waist for extended periods of time lead to fatigue and back strain. If possible, elevate the work to eliminate the need to bend over.
