Never avert your attention from hot work area while burning, cutting, or while holding a lit torch.

Remove potentially combustible material from work area before conducting any hot work. A working fire extinguisher should always be readily available. Whenever there is a chance of fire, a fire watch should be assigned to watch out for fires and for a sufficient time after cutting and burning is completed to ensure that there is no fire hazard.
