"Stop Silicosis" was produced in 1938 by the U.S. Department of Labor as part of its efforts to prevent the disease. The video shows that, more than 5 decades ago, the suffering that unprotected exposure to silica could cause and ways to prevent it - wet methods, respirators - were known.
