Eye injuries are a common problem in construction. This fact sheet by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH, which is part of the CDC, tells emergency response and disaster recovery workers how to help prevent eye injuries. The fact sheet covers such hazards as dust, concrete, metal particles, falling debris, smoke, chemicals, welding light, thermal hazards, and bloodborne pathogens.
