Suggested Guidance for Supervisors at Disaster Rescue Sites. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, part of the CDC, recommends a written work plan and safety checklists covering unstable work surfaces (a fall hazard), noise, dusts, debris, eye injuries, heat stress, confined spaces, carbon monoxide, toxic chemicals from fire, electrocution, heavy equipment, human remains/body fluids, and traumatic stress.
