OSHA has produced detailed technical information on hexavalent chromium (chromates), which is in paints and coatings, stainless steel, cement, and other materials - used by painters, bricklayers, cement masons, and welders - and has been linked to lung cancers, nose holes, dermatitis, and eye and kidney damage. The technical link includes properties, the hazards, exposure standards, OSHA and NIOSH documents, and potential controls, such as ventilation and PPE.
