WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Home Patio Sets

Units: About 40,000

Manufacturer: Target, of Minneapolis, Minn.

Hazard: The chair can collapse when weight is applied to the front end of the arm rests, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Target has received 35 reports of chairs collapsing, resulting in 18 injuries such as bruising to the back, hips, shoulders, arms and finger lacerations.

Description: This recall involves six-piece home patio sets sold exclusively at Target. The set consists of a table, an umbrella, and four chairs. The chairs and the umbrella have a black aluminum frame covered with a beige fabric.

Sold exclusively at: Target stores nationwide and on its Web site from November 2006 through July 2007 for about $130.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled patio sets immediately and return the entire six-piece set to any Target store for a full refund.
