JERSEY CITY, Feb.
5 (Reuters) - Three construction workers were found dead yesterday in
a house they were renovating after they apparently succumbed to carbon
monoxide fumes from a generator in the basement, the police said.
A fourth worker,
who survived apparently called the police from the house, reporting that
"three people didn't wake up," said Lt. Michael Louf, a spokesman
for the police.
The police traced
the source of the gas to a generator in the basement that was being used
as a heat source and sending fumes through ventilators throughout the
house, Lieutenant Louf said.
