PESO is an easy-to-use, bilingual toolkit created by the Oregon OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Program to help employers deliver job safety training and reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
The toolkit contains:
handouts for toolbox talks
training modules
overheads
All are in English and Spanish. The training programintroduces important safety and health topics to workers who may have only limited knowledge of U.S. safety laws and rules. Modules are designed to be taught in less than 60 minutes. The toolbox talk handouts are posted here on eLCOSH with links to the modules and overheads on the OR-OSHA website.

Bloodborne pathogens are viruses and bacteria in human blood.
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) are two viruses in human blood that can cause illnesses or death.

If you are exposed to human blood you are covered by the standard.
If you are exposed to Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIM) from human body fluids, such as semen, vaginal secetions, and fluids that you can see blood, you are also covered by the standard.
